Tomato Bone Biscuits, our dogs loved this homemade dog food recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
1 tbsp dehydrated minced OR powdered garlic
2 cup bran
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup rye flour
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup almond milk
1 pack dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2 cups tomato juice ( salt free)
How to make:
Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
Combine all dry ingredients (ingredients 1-7) except the yeast.
Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add the tomato juice.
Mix with dry ingredients.
Knead (for about 3 minutes) until a very stiff dough is formed.
Cut into bone shapes.
Place on a un-greased baking sheet and bake for 1 hour.
Turn the oven off and leave the biscuits overnight.
Make sure biscuits are left for 4 hours to cool and harden.
Makes: about 7 dozen cookie size biscuits.
