Writer Neal Stephenson unveils his digital novel The Mongoliad - uthor Neal Stephenson has been credited for inspiring today’s virtual world startups with his novel Snow Crash. Now he’s launching a startup himself: Subutai, where he is co-founder and chairman. The company, based in Seattle and San Francisco, has developed what it calls the PULP platform for creating digital novels. The core of the experience is still a text novel, but authors can add additional material like background articles, images, music, and video. There are also social features that allow readers to create their own profiles, earn badges for activity on the site or in the application, and interact with other readers.
Shantaram - Author Gregory David Roberts writes a novel that parallels his life with rich and colour full imagery throughout the book. Sentenced to 19 years in prison as a result of a crime committed during his dark days, Roberts escaped prison and spent 10 years as a fugitive. Much of this time was spent in Bombay, the local for this novel. He writes with the confidence of a man who has walked the talk because he has done just that.

The 10 most notable books of 2009 - New York times. A truly interesting cross section of books for our reading pleasure. I especially enjoyed the Lords of Finance. It is especially poignant taking into consideration the parallels between the early 1900’s and now. There were lots of mini market crashes in the early 1900’s and government bumbling was rampant and pervasive. It is time for us all to get our personal Balance Sheets in order. The other item is that we need to read the other 9 books before the spring break occurs. Time flies.
